TFN has a new CEO - meet Celine Gagnon

Welcome to TFN, Celine! We’re excited to have you  here. Could you tell us a little about your background?

“Thanks Grace, I am also really excited about joining the team and very much look forward to meeting everyone over the coming months. I have been involved in the charity sector for about a decade now, mainly as a fundraiser and  mostly in the performing arts. I am a great theatre enthusiast, so it made sense to me to contribute to the sector by raising funds for building projects, outreach activities and productions.”

What excites you about working at TFN?

“What makes TFN special for me is the way it makes giving accessible to all, whatever your socio-economic status. Every donation counts, whether it’s £10 or £1,000. I think we are in a great position to advocate for more people engaging with charities that excites them. I can see us continue making a difference to the third sector by encouraging more people to give what they can  in these straighten times.”

You’ve been here for 2 weeks now – what are your first impressions?

“I am humbled by everyone’s commitment to TFN’s vision. The team, the Trustees and the members are all so committed to the organisation and the amazing charities it supports. It is a rare thing and I am honoured to have been invited to join in.”

Yesterday you attended your first TFN event as CEO! How did it feel?

“Both scary and exhilarating! Like many people I suspect, I am terrified at the idea of public speaking. TFN members are such a welcoming and generous bunch though, that it became easier as the evening went on.”

Finally – can you tell us something about you that we wouldn’t guess?

“My proudest achievement – as a keen knitter, setting  up the Maltings’ knitting festival Unravel, which has been growing in size and number every year since 2009.”
